I wired my Xbox 360 with a Linksys router and still started on Xbox Live. Why?

I have a Linksys WRT54G V6 (Firmware Version: v1.02.7) and have my Xbox 360 wired for this, but I keep getting booted. I two computers, an iMac and an IBM laptop using the router for wireless connections, and the login and password for each. The Linksys does not support that was to improve my firmware and reboot the router, I did, but still does the same. I tried to forward all necessary ports for Xbox Live, but this does not seem to help. (Do I need to transmit if your cable connection?) Does anyone have information on what that is the problem?
