I have a new Xbox 360 and am very confused on Xbox Live, how to get and how much. Can anyone explain? Thanks

Ok first. 1) Make sure your Xbox is connected to the Internet, wired or wireless 2) for details of your Microsoft Windows Live ID before you create your Xbox LIVE. Already have a Windows Live ID If you have any of the following: * A Hotmail account or Live.com * A * A MSN account Xbox.com, Zune, or Games for Windows - LIVE Account * Passport Network account if not already, visit accounts.live.com establish, or create one of the Xbox Dashboard during this registration process. A Windows Live ID requires an email account can not be created during registration. To set up a free Hotmail account, visit MSN Hotmail. 3) Turn your system with no disc in the tray. In the Xbox Live area of the Xbox Dashboard, select Xbox Live banner. This will launch the Xbox Live area Xbox Guide. 4) Select Join Xbox LIVE and follow the instructions on the screen. You can change your gamertag. Also provide information such as e-mail and word password associated with your Windows Live ID, your country / region, your language, your name and phone number. 5) When asked to select the type of privileged account. Xbox Live Gold members will pay for memberships to provide accurate credit card. 6) Follow the steps in the left: enter a contact address, choose an Xbox Live Gamer Zone, set your communication preferences for Xbox 360 promotions, and select a time zone and time option. and that's it. You are now ready to begin to get online.
